<p>Responsibilities of the position:</p>

<p>- performing general office administration work.</p>
<p>- reaching out to the ADAM community to promote ADAM programs and events.</p>
<p>Qualifications:</p>
<p>- university education in arts, social sciences, community services, business administration or related disciplines is preferred.</p>
<p>- advanced computer skills in MS office applications</p>
<p>- excellent communication and interpersonal skills</p>
<p>- familiarity with public relations and marketing an asset</p>
<p>- at least 2 years experience working with a non-profit or government organization is preferred, and prior experience in immigrant services is a definite asset.</p>
<p>- in particular, prior experience as a member volunteering with ADAM and knowledge of the African immigrant community in Nova Scotia is an asset.</p>

<p>Program Coordinator for Settlement Services</p>
<p><strong>Job description:</strong></p>
<p>Program Coordinator for Settlement Services will direct the Program Coordinator for <em>Partnership Intervention Program for the Integration and Retention of African Canadian Immigrants in Nova Scotia</em> (hereafter <em>PIP</em>), which is supported by funding by the Nova Scotia Office of Immigration. The position also includes a responsibility for assisting with tasks associated with the daily activities at the ADAM office.</p>
<p><strong>Principle job duties and responsibilities:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>will be responsible for the overall management of all of ADAM’s settlement services which includes reporting, evaluation, proposal writing, fundraising, contacts with partners and donors, and other activities related to immigration and settlement services,</li>
<li>will develop strategies for increasing the membership and volunteer activities of ADAM,</li>
<li>will develop a budget for the <em>PIP</em>, and will also manage the financial reporting for ADAM as a whole, in cooperation with the ADAM Board Treasurer,</li>
<li>whenever possible, will assist in ADAM day to day office activities and projects,</li>
<li>will communication with ADAM membership and maintain the membership list in cooperation with the ADAM Board Secretary,</li>
<li>will manage volunteer staff as required,</li>
<li>will provide regular oral and written reports to ADAM Board.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p>
<ul>

<p><strong>Job description:</strong></p>
<p>The AWWP Project Coordinator and Office Assistant is responsible for assisting with tasks associated with the daily activities at the ADAM office, and in particular will direct the African Women Wellness Project sponsored by the IWK. The AWWP Project Coordinator and Office Assistant will assist in manage and facilitate ADAM activities such as communications, meetings, and scheduling. The AWWP Project Coordinator and Office Assistant reports to the ADAM Board in planning project activities to assure deliverables and other works are performed in accordance with the established ADAM procedures.</p>

<li>Assist in ADAM day to day office activities and projects.</li>
<li>Assist ADAM secretary to preparing for board and general annual meetings (AGM).</li>
<li>Organize, coordinate, and market healthcare forums related to African Women Wellness<br />
Program sponsored by IWK.</li>
<li>Write evaluation reports about each forum in the African Women Wellness<br />
Program.</li>
<li>Document activities and develop feedback reports that communicate ADAM projects and activities.</li>
<li>Maintain communication with ADAM members and external partners.</li>

<li>Solid project development/management experience is an asset.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Position package:</strong></p>

<li>Paid contract: 10 hours per week at $20 per hour.</li>
<li>Volunteer supplement: 6 hours per week.</li>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Women’s Wellness Program is hosting a two part series on the issues of Sexual Health and Violence.  For those who have missed our last three forums you don’t want to miss this one.  There will be lots of interesting information being presented, allowing you to also voice your concerns and questions to quality professional that are willing to share their expertise. These sessions will be interactive, engaging and very relevant to the needs of our community.</p>
<p>Sexual Health Part 1: For youths ages 13-18</p>
<p>This forum is special designed to give youths a platform on which they can learn about sexual health care, allowing them to also gain knowledge on the issues of sexual violence. There will be lots of fun activities and refreshments.</p>
<p>Date:  Friday, October 14<sup>th</sup>, 2011 @ 6:00pm – 8:00pm</p>
<p>Location: Faith Tabernacle Church, 6225 Summit Street.</p>
<p>Sexual Health Part 2: For Women and Youth Ages (19+)</p>
<p>This forum is designed to give women a platform to voice their concerns and ask question pertaining to the issues of sexual health and violence. This will give women an opportunity to have quality interaction and engagement with professionals in a safe and comfortable environment.</p>
